The district Collector, Akash Tripathi, has said that minimum two works based on water conservation and greenery must be started in every village panchayat based on public participation under ‘Aao Apna Madhya Pradesh Banaye’. For this an action plan for every village panchayat should be prepared.

Tripathi issued these orders in a meeting of village panchayat secretaries in the assembly hall of Janpad Panchayat Morar. The CEO of district panchayat Vinod Sharma, CEOs of all Janpad panchayats and officers of village mechanical service were present at the meeting. Tripathi said that the drive is priority of the State Government the aim of which is to create awareness among the residents of their village, city and the State.

The elected public representatives of the district would be connected with the drive. Tripathi said that the village panchayat and villagers have important role in development activities. He ordered all the secretaries of village panchayat to start the work of water conservation and greenery with the panchayat representatives.

Building tank, hand pump, well, step well, hostel and other public utility works can be taken from departmental schemes and conversion and the responsibility or their maintains can be given to the people willing for it.

Regarding greenery, there is 17 per cent greenery in Madhya Pradesh, which is an agriculture State and it should have 30 per cent greenery as per the standard. Hence it is the responsibility of the entire citizen to provide cooperation in plant conservation for which new plants should be implanted in Government offices, schools, hospitals, hostel premises and by the side of roads.
