CM announces climate research centre for State

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced the establishment of Climate Change Research Centre in the Madhya Pradesh Council for Science and Technology (MPCST) on Monday. He said that this centre would collect data related to the climate change in rich State referring to the forest property, biotechnology and agricultural climate zone.
The Chief Minister made this announcement while addressing the Silver Jubilee Youth Scientists Congress at MPCST. Chouhan also inaugurated council’s new Vigyan Vimarsh Vithika. While addressing the gathering, he expressed hope that the research centre would mark every activities related to the climate change in the State and would try to restrict the negative consequence with its developed research.
He further added that science is only relevant when it serves human beings, bring change in their life, and help in the bringing prosperity. Without welfare of the human beings, growth rate is futile, he added. Chouhan said that science could play a part in the re-formation of India, welfare of the poor and formation of developed Madhya Pradesh. State Minister for Science and Technology and IT Kailash Vijayvargiya and Council DG Prof PK Verma also addressed the function. Vijayvargiya announced that an MTech (Research) course would be started along with IGNOU for technical skill enhancement of working scientists.
