Celebrations of Grandparents Day-Vatsalyam 2019 with the theme 'Abhyudaya' by the students of KG-I and KG-II continued amid great verve and ardour on Friday at Sarla Birla Public School. This year, the school is celebrating the 10th edition of Vatsalyam, through which the students expressed their love and gratitude towards their grandparents. The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the release of the school magazine 'Sahastranshu'-Vol. III with the theme 'Change for a better future' by the eminent guests and dignitaries. The newly- constructed, highly equipped shooting range 'Eklavya Prashikshan Kendra', was also inaugurated.

The cultural programme commenced amidst abundant vibrance with the 'Saraswati Vandana' by the school choir followed by a live performance 'Anurakti' in which the students enthralled the audience with a song and dance depicting their love for their grandparents. Then the school Annual Report was presented by the head boy and the head girl. It was followed by a programme 'Honey-Bunny', a dance wherein the students presented themselves in the form of different animals followed by 'Flurries and Fun' depicting the significance of seasons.

The programme 'Aalokik Bharat' presented the people of different states of India with the message of unity in diversity. The students also performed a dance drama named 'Glories of Shri Krishna' which manifested the different stages of Lord Krishna's life. The audience were highly elated and lauded for the performances presented by the Tiny Tots.

The event finally culminated with the vote of thanks and the rendition of the school song followed by the national anthem. The success of the event was evident through the gleeful smiles and emotional eyes of the grandparents as they were overwhelmed to see their grandchildren performing for them.

Dr. Prof. V. K. Singh, Registrar, Sarala Birla University congratulated the teachers and said that SBPS aims at the holistic development of the students. He appreciated the effort of the school administration for preserving the Indian culture. In this way, the students are imbibed with moral ethics in addition to academic excellence. He added that we intend to impart quality education from KG to PG.

School Head Personnel & Admin Pradip Varma appreciated the commendable efforts put in by the  kids towards making the event a huge success and said that SBPS always aims to connect the students with the traditional roots through such programmes.
