UJVN Limited on path of becoming public limited company

By regularly showing profits in its books, paying dividend to the State Government and conforming to the standard quality systems and norms, the UJVN Limited is on the path of becoming public limited company.

After getting listed on the official stock exchanges, a public limited company can float shares in the market for generation of capital. When inquired, the Managing Director (MD) of the

 UJVN Ltd, S N Verma said that the company is on the right path and can fulfil all the necessary conditions for being listed on stock exchange within a span of two years.

He however added that there is no immediate plan for such an endeavour.

Addressing media persons at his office on Wednesday, Verma said that the company is consistently paying dividend to the state government.

In the year 2015-16, Rs 15.18 Crore dividend was paid to the

Government similarly in the year 2016-17, a dividend of Rs 22.66 Crore and Rs 18.88 Crore was paid by the company in the year 2017-18 as a dividend.

He said that UJVNL has received, ISO 9001, ISO- 14001 and ISO 45001 certification.

He said that 1392.1 MW power projects are in currently operational in the state while work on 148.5 MW power projects are in progress.

The MD further informed that power generation of 4,663.08 Million Unit (MU) was achieved in the year 2018-19 which is higher than total power produced by the THDC.

He said that the 120 MW Byasi Hydro-power project would get completed by the year 2020.

Verma added that to increase the power generation, work of Renovation, Modernization and Upgradation (RMU) for renewal of old projects of the corporation is being done. RMU work is going on in Dhalipur and Tiloth power house.

The corporation is also making inroads in the field of the solar energy and a 26 MW solar power project has been completed.

The MD claimed that the corporation has been able to reduce the downtime of the machinery which has helped in achieving generation targets
