The use of social media application TikTok has landed nurses of the District Headquarters Hospital here in a soup.
The matter came to the fore after the TikTok videos of the nurses went viral on social media on Wednesday.
In the videos, three on-duty nurses of the Sick Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) are seen performing dance sequences and lip-syncing dialogues at the hospital. They are even seen dancing with newborns in their arms flouting the norms.
The videos have drawn flak from different quarters with a demand that the erring nurses be immediately suspended.
The hospital authorities ordered an inquiry into the matter and the three nurses were served show-cause notices by the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO).
The nurses were asked to reply to the notices within 24 hours, said Medical Officer-in-Charge of the hospital Sapan Kumar Dinda.
