Himachal Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Sunday rolled out the online module of permissions under Section 118 of HP Tenancy and Land Reforms Act 1972.
Speaking on the occasion in Mandi, the Chief Minister said that this module would go a long way in speedy disposal of 118 cases. The module would also ensure transparency in the process of approval regarding 118 cases.
He said that the Section 118 was imposed in the state to safeguard the farmers. Section 118 also at time causes hurdle in expediting the pace of development due to cumbersome procedure and delay in approvals, he said.
Thakur said that the State Government has not made any changes or amendments in Section 118, but was only in favour of making the entire process simple and transparent.
All the clearances under Section 118 have now been made online so that the people could get clearances done at the earliest. This project has been started in pilot basis from Mandi district, he added.
The Chief Minister also launched solar rooftop programme to cover all panchayati raj or rural development government building in Mandi.
He said that 'One Sun One Grid' is a dream initiative of the Prime Minister and the State Government would ensure that all the government buildings would have solar roof top panels.
He also released a booklet highlighting the importance of solar power.
It was informed that the State Government is targeting to produce 2 MW from government building and 8 MW from domestic consumers or society while 1 MW has been produced in Mandi district alone till date.
