The seizure of big cat bones from the border with Nepal has once again raised concerns about the level of wildlife security in the State. On Tuesday, the police and Forest department in a joint operation arrested one man and seized about 11 kilgrammes of big cat bones from him at Banbasa. The police informed that based on a tip off, Raees Ahmed Salmani was arrested with 11 kilogrammes of big cat bones. He said that he got the bones from two Van Gujjars in the Chorgaliya area and was taken them for sale in Nepal. Salmani has been booked under the Wildlife Protection Act.
