Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo on Saturday said that Mahagathbandhan was stuck between “jail and bail”. Its senior leaders were either out on bail or serving imprisonment, Shahdeo said while addressing the media in Latehar.

“While Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are out on bail, Lalu Prasad is serving jail. This scenario aptly describes the condition of Mahagathbandhan’s senior leaders,” he said.

Shahdeo accused Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) of tweeting from Prasad’s official Twitter handle, which he said was illegal unless the owner of the handle gives permission for each tweet.

“Are people meeting Lalu in jail and seeking permission to tweet from his Twitter handle?” he asked.

Taking a jibe at the Congress party, he said that a political party which was once one of the strongest forces in the country has to now rely on regional parties for saving face in Jharkhand.

He accused the Mahagathbandhan allies of practicing nepotism while short listing candidates for the Lok Sabha polls.

The Congress party, RJD, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha-Prajatantrik (JVM-P) have joined hands against BJP in Jharkhand this election.

“The people of Jharkhand will vote for BJP for development and nationalism,” said Shahdeo.

Earlier, Shahdeo had on a number of instances flayed the Congress party for its agenda of repealing sedition rules in India, calling it a view influenced by separatists’ ideologies.

The vocal leader had asked other Mahagathbandhan allies to clarify if they stood in support of the Congress party’s agenda of repealing sedition laws and if it was a subtle way of supporting Left Wing Extremism and terrorism.
