Mahagathbandhan an opportunistic alliance, says Saroj Pandey

Sunday, 20 January 2019 | PNS | Dehradun

Terming the Mahagathbandhan of the opposition parties as an achievement for BJP, the BJP’s national general secretary Saroj Pandey said that the parties with divergent ideologies are coming together with the sole motive to grab power.

Addressing the media persons at the state party office here on Saturday, the Lok Sabha MP said that the BJP government has rolled out as many as 129 social welfare schemes which have helped the poor and the last man on the social ladder. She said that during the past four and half years of its rule, the BJP has embarked on the policy of development and has ensured that politics does not interfere in the realm of development.

The BJP leader termed the Narendra Modi government’s decision to provide 10 percent reservation in jobs and educational institutions for the poor among the upper castes as a historical one. She said that the party has not played politics of appeasement but it has given every section of the society its rightful due. “Providing constitutional status to OBC Commission is another instance of this no-appeasement policy,’’ she commented.

Taking a dig at the Trinamool Congress ( TMC), Pandey said that its leader Mamta Banerjee has not  been allowing  the opposition to function in West Bengal. “She  is adopting every possible measure to  gag the voice of the opposition in her state,” she added.

Quizzed on the question of Rafale, the BJP leader said that Supreme Court (SC) ruling and the debate in the Parliament on the issue has exposed the Congress’s  vicious policy on the matter.

Dwelling on the preparation of the party for Lok Sabha elections, Pandey said that the party would soon organise six special programmes all over the country. Such programmes would be held in every Lok Sabha constituency. She said that the party would organise ‘ Trishakti Sammelan’, Yuva Sammelan and ‘Bhuddhijivi ( intellectual) Sammelan’ in the coming days. Similarly, from  January 12 to January 25, ‘ Mera Parivar BJP Parivar’ programmes are being organised.

The BJP leader further informed that from January 26, “ Kamal Jyoti Prajjavalan’ programmes would be held at the residences of  the beneficiaries of various schemes  rolled out by the government. Pandey added that on March 2, the BJP workers would take out bike rallies in all the Assembly constituencies.
