INLD fields Virender Rana from Gurugram

Monday, 22 April 2019 | PNS | Chandigarh

The Indian National Lok Dal on Sunday announced to field Virender Rana, an industrialist from Gurugram Lok Saba seat.

Abhay Chautala, INLD secretary general made an announcement in this regard in Gurugram.

He said that the party has fielded four youth candidates in the Lok Sabha elections. This shows that the INLD is a party of youth and educated professionals, he added.

With this, the party has announced all candidates for 10 Lok Sabha sears in Haryana.

The party has fielded Abhay’s younger son Arjun Chautala from Kurukshetra constituency and outgoing MP Charanjit Singh Rori from Sirsa seat.

Several sitting MLAs and senior INLD leaders had refused to contest Lok Sabha polls forcing the party to field eight new faces in the general elections.

Notably, the INLD, which was fighting the 2014 Lok Sabha polls with its back to the wall after the conviction of party chief OP Chautala and his son Ajay Singh Chautala in JBT teachers’ recruitment case, had managed to secure Sirsa and Hisar seats.

However, after the split in INLD and formation of its splinter group-Jannayak Janta Party last year, the INLD has remained on the back foot and will be battling for its existence in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls.
