On the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day on December 7, Director in charge Sainik Welfare and Deputy Secretary Home RR Bhonsale pinned lapel pin on Chief Secretary SR Mohanty at the Mantralaya.
Bhonsale also pinned lapel pins on Additional Chief Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development Manoj Shrivastava, Additional Chief Secretary Finance Anurag Jain and Principal Secretary Public Works Malay Shrivastava. Mohanty and all officers donated funds for the Flag Day Fund. Colonel Ashwini Kumar was also present on the occasion.It may be noted that the celebration of Armed Forced Flag Day started from the year 1949. On this day, the sacrifice of the martyrs and ex-servicemen is remembered. Flags are distributed to citizens and the donations received are used in the welfare schemes being run for the martyrs, ex-servicemen and their dependents.
