Deepawali Gift: Bonus & DA hike for U’khand employees

In a Deepawali gift, the Uttarakhand Government has given the benefit of 5 percent Dearness Allowance (DA) and bonus to its more than three lakh employees and pensioners on Monday. With this hike, the DA of the State Government employees has increased to 17 per cent from the existing 12 per cent.

The increased DA would be applicable from July 1, 2019. In yet another benefit to the employees, the increased salary and the bonus would be deposited in accounts on October 25.

These measures would result in an additional burden of Rs 860 crore on State Government exchequer.

On the approval of Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, the secretary, finance, Amit Singh Negi released the Government Orders (GO) for increased DA and bonus on Monday.

After the declaration of the increase of five per cent of DA by the Union Government for its employees the increase in the DA of Government employees was on the cards. More than 1.5 lakh employees of the State would get a Deepawali bonus of Rs 6,908 each.
