CS in favour of tough action against truant teachers

Chief Secretary SR Mohanty has asked to pay special attention on presence of teachers in schools. He has also directed to take strict action against teachers who are absent from schools or negligent towards their responsibility and also strictly follow the ongoing special copy checking campaign in schools.

The Chief Secretary further stated that a system to check 5 to10 percent copies of students by Head Masters should be ensured in each school. Strict action should be ensured against those who do not follow the directives. He told that publicity of achievements of those schools of district, where competency level is more than 90 precent should be ensured at wide scale at district level.

Mohanty was speaking at the meeting of Executive Committee of Madhya Pradesh Samagra Shisksha Abhiyan at Mantralaya on Thursday. Mohanty also gave suggestion for setting up registered committees at the sankul level. He said that many people are willing to donate to improve the infrastructure of schools and for their betterment. But no appropriate system is in place, where to make that donation.  Appropriate system could be established to accept donations from these registered committees and to undertake the improvement works in schools.

In the meeting, consent was given to fill the vacant posts in the Development Resource Center offices, District Education Centre, primarily on outsourcing or on contractual basis. The committee approved the proposal for revision in travelling allowances of the staff working on the contractual basis and change in place more than once, under special circumstances. Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan and schemes related to teachers’ education were reviewed and decisions regarding their future implementation were taken in the meeting.

It was informed that this year identity cards will be provided to all teachers. Career guidance and counseling camps will be organized at state and each block level. Vocational education arrangement will be made in 574 schools of the state. Sports Curriculum will be implemented in schools in cooperation of SCRT.

Grant will be provided to establish libraries in primary, secondary and higher secondary schools of the state.

Under the Ek Parisar Ek Shala, 35113 schools were shifted in 16076 campuses. This has facilitated more students with the benefit of better infrastructure and management. Meetings of Parents-Teachers Association were organized on the same day in 99 percent of the schools, which was attended by 34 lakh parents.

In order to develop self-confidence, logical thinking in students, 5.62 lakh students of 1874 schools were included in Umang Life Skill Education. Besides, information was given about the conclusions of National

Achievement Survey, efficiency upgradation, exposure visits of teachers, Shala Siddhi Yojana, Mission 1000 and Shala Darpan schemes.
