Lashing at the Haryana Government for the denotification of Dadupur Nalvi canal project, Congress on Wednesday described the move as ‘grave injustice, betrayal and deception’ with the farmers of the northern part of the state.
Senior Congress leader and in-charge of communications Randeep Singh Surjewala said justice would be ensured to the affected farmers on the formation of Congress Government in the state after Assembly elections this year.
Surjewala said that the wrong decision of Haryana Government of asking the affected farmers to return the compensation amount has dealt multiple blows to the farmers. “On the one side, the farmers are facing bleak future on account of depleting water level and scrapping the Dadupur Nalvi canal project, and at the same time the farmers are being threatened to pay back the received compensation along with the interest” Surjewala said.
