CM issues instructions for cultural programmes

Chief Minister Kamal Nath has issued instructions to organize cultural programmes on a large scale as per the sentiments of the common people, while outlining the history and path of development of the state on the occasion of Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day.

The Chief Minister said that maximum Gond tribals reside in Madhya Pradesh in the whole country. On the foundation day, the art of Gond tribe and their specific works should be publicized throughout the country. He has asked to prepare an outline of the programme on the 550th Prakash Parv of Guru Nanak ji,the birth anniversary of Pt Jawaharlal Nehru on November 14 and the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on October 31 in the entire state. The Chief Minister also asked to report on the events organized on the 150 th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

Kamal Nath was reviewing the activities of the Department of Culture in the Ministry today. Medical Education and Culture Minister Vijaylaxmi Sadho was present. The Chief Minister approved the proposals to increase the monthly assistance and medical assistance amount given to litterateurs and artists of the state. He directed to put forth the proposal in the Cabinet meeting. The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh's Foundation day is an important occasion when we can connect residents with the legacy of the state. He said that for this we should organize various events to ensure maximum participation of people of the state.

Chief Minister Kamal Nath said that a state level committee should be constituted on the 550 th Prakash Parv of Guru Nanak ji and through it the outline of the programmes should be designed. The Chief Minister directed to organize a programme based on activities focusing on child creativity on the birth anniversary of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on November 14, as well as on the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi fosussing on her contribution in the development of the country. The Chief Minister told to make proper sound and lighting arrangements to enhance the attraction of the Tribal Museum of Bhopal.

The Chief Minister asked to establish a reference centre on culture, art, life etc. associated with Baiga, Bharia and Sahariya tribes in the state. He said that Bharia tribe dwells in a large number in Patalkot Tamia of Chhindwara district. He told to preserve their progress and their surroundings. Instructions were given to prepare a DPR for the construction of a memorial museum in the name of Raja Shankar Shah and Raghunath Shah in Jabalpur and to take immediate action for the construction of Shaurya Memorial in Bhind district as per the announcement of the Chief Minister at the meeting.

It was informed that various cultural programmes will be organized throughout the state for social harmony. Rang Mandal Repertory will be re-established in Bharat Bhavan. To encourage creativity among the youth, they will be linked to different art dimensions. Documentation and preservation of Madhya Pradesh's picture rock shelters and maintenance and development works of Lalbagh Palace, Indore were approved in the meeting. Chief Secretary SR Mohanty, Principal Secretary Pankaj Raag and other senior officers were present.
