Bundeli Jasgeet, Guj folk dances enthrall audience

Bundeli Jasgeet and 'Folk Dances of Gujarat' were performed leaving the audience enthralled. The performances were held at Madhya Pradesh State Tribal Museum here on Sunday. The event was held under Uttaradhikar series.

The programme began with the performance by Shilpi Parihar (Jabalpur) with her fellow artists from 'Bundeli Jasgeet'. In which he started his singing by presenting the song Devi Chum-Chum Chhannan Baje.

After this, the artists presented the songs present in the auditorium by singing the songs 'A Ra Ra Ra Maiya Ran Mein Chali' and 'Mori Suniyan Arj Sharda Ma'. The artists then performed the songs 'Kaboot Le Le Ja Re' and 'Gajab Karon Maiya Babbar Sher Tumhaaro'. Shilpi Parihar paused her singing rendition with fellow performers by presenting the songs 'Tum on Bas Ae Village' and 'Chhanan Baje Paaijian'.

During the singing performance, Shilpi Parihar was accompanied by Roshan Sharma and Shivani Rajput, Rajesh Vishwakarma on harmonium, Satish Vishwakarma on tabla, Suvit Khare on dholak and Manish Kumar Lakhes and Rajendra Rajput on cymbals. Shilpi Parihar has been active in the field of singing for a long time. Shilpi Parihar has given many singing performances at various art forums in the country.

After Bundeli song, Basavada (Ahmedabad) presented 'Folk Dances of Gujarat' with his fellow artists. Inaugurating the dance performance, the artists presented the 'Maniyaro Raas Dance'. This dance is performed at half a rhythm. Maniyaro dances are performed by men on auspicious and auspicious occasions.

The performers then performed a 'shield-sword dance'. This is the dance of Shaurya Ras. In this dance, war skills and the joy of winning in battle are contained. This dance is usually performed by men. After this the artists presented 'Mishra Raas'. In this dance only Radha and Krishna are portrayed. Both men and women perform this dance together.

Mishra Ras was followed by 'Garba Mandwadi Dance'. This dance is performed by women. This dance is performed on auspicious occasions and manglic functions. After this, the sound servant Basavada, along with his fellow artists, performed the ancient 'Garba dance' and stopped their dance performance. The ancient Garba dance is performed exclusively on the Navratri festival. This dance is performed by women.
