The State Government has procured more than 61.80 lakh tonnes of paddy on Minimum Support Price from 12.63 lakh farmers this year, officials informed.
Paddy procurement would be continued till January 31 this year. The paddy procurement is being done from 1,333 primary agricultural co-operative societies' 1195 procurement centers .
The maximum paddy had been procured from Janjgir-Champa district of more than 6.15 lakh tonnes. In Mahasamund district more than 5.32 lakh tonnes of paddy was procured similary 4.88 lakh tonnes of paddy was procured from Rajnandgaon, Baloda-Bazar (4.95 lakh tonnes), Dhamtari ( 3.67 lakh tonnes), Gariaband (2.32 lakh tonnes), Raipur (4.17 lakh tonnes), Kawardha ( 2.05 lakh tonnes), Durg ( 3.17 lakh tonnes), Bemetara ( 3.67 lakh tonnes), Balod ( 4.21 lakh tonnes), Raigarh ( 3.74 lakh tonnes), Mungeli ( 2.12 lakh tonnes) and Bilaspur ( 3.19 lakh tonnes).
