2 drunk man held for firing in air in Dwarka

The sleuths of Delhi Police deputed on Police Control Room (PCR) van have arrested two men who had allegedly fired in the air while drinking alcohol in national Capital’s Dwarka area.

The accused have been identified as Subhash and Monu while the third person - Meenu Pehlwan managed to escape with the pistol.

According to a senior police official, a PCR staff, who was on their way to Bharthal village on Tuesday night in connection with a case, suddenly heard sound of gunshots.

“The police team saw the shots being fired by occupants of a car coming from Bijwasan. On spotting the PCR, the accused fled towards Bharthal but PCR chased them. After chasing them for around 3-4 kilometers, the PCR staff intercepted the car,” said the senior police officer.

“The PCR van was also damaged as the vehicle driven by the accused hit the van. Two people Subhash and Monu were apprehended while the third person - Meenu Pehlwan managed to escape with the pistol,” said the senior police official.

“During investigation, it was revealed that the accused were under the influence of alcohol when they opened fire in the air. Police have recovered three fired cartridges from the place of incident following which a case under section 336/34 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 25/27 Arms Act has been registered and efforts are being on to nab the third accused,” the senior police official added.
