A two- day National Adolescent Health programme review meeting began here on Thursday.
The programme officers from states of Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Gujarat, Dadar-Nagar Haveli, Daman are participating in the meeting.
In the presentation made by Chhattisgarh, it was pointed out that state has adolescent population of 9 percent and around 21.56 lakh go to school while 1.58 lakh boys and girls had left school.
State has commenced 104 toll free number for boys and girls.
Weekly iron-folic supplementary tables are being provided to schools and anganbadi centres.
The presentation states that peer educator system has been developed in Bijapur, Bilaspur, Dantewada, Jashpur and Surguja. In each village having population of 1000, four peer educators, two boys and two girls having age of 15 to 17 years are trained. Similarly, in school two peer educators and in villages, village cleanliness and health committee also deputes two peer educators. In present around 1146 peer educators have been trained.
