The 'Rashtriya Putul Samaroh' will be organized at open air auditorium of Madhya Pradesh State Tribal Museum from Wednesday. The event will be focusing on different styles of puppet art.
The festival is organized by Tribal Folk Art and Language Development (Adivasi Lok Kala Boli Vikas). The artists from different States will present different folk and mythological stories through puppets. It will be a must visit programme for the art lovers of the city.
On October 16 i.e. on the first day of the event, Sudeep Gupta (Kolkata) will stage 'Taming of the Wild' in a rods style with his fellow cast members. In four parts, the artist will present to the audience with his artistic skills in the style of rods.
On October 17, Mithilesh Dubey (Benaras) will stage 'Mohan Se Mahatma' in a rooster effigy style with his fellow artists. It will mark second day of the event. On October 18, Pradeepnath Tripathi (Lucknow) will stage 'Luv Kush and Aladdin' in the sticks effigy style with his fellow artists.
On October 19, Mohammed Shamim will stage 'Gulliver Travel and Our Circus' with his fellow artists in the style of sticks and thread effigies. On the last day of the ceremony i.e. on October 20, the Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal (Udaipur) will stage 'Ramayana and Kabuliwala' in thread style. All these presentations will be held daily from 7 pm.
Traditional cuisine and traditional clothing fair of Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Assam, Sikkim, Bihar and Odissi states are also held from 2 to 16 pm from October 16 to 20. On October 19 and 20, 2019, from 3 pm to 5 pm, Dilip Masoom (Bhopal) will be performing puppet art in thread thread style with his fellow artists.
On the last day of the ceremony, on October 20, Sarita Saj (New Delhi) along with her fellow artists will sing Suraj songs from 6 pm on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
