Suspected member of Manjeet Mahal gang shot by 2 unknown persons

A 40 year-old man suspected to be a member of the notorious 'Manjeet Mahal gang' was shot dead by two unknown assailants on Tuesday night in Najafgarh area of Outer Delhi.

The deceased has been identified as Roshan Lal, a resident of Dharampura in Najafgarh area. According to a senior police official, the incident occurred around 8:30 PM on Tuesday night when the deceased was consuming alcohol with his friends in their office located near healthcare centre in Najafgarh when two unidentified assailants riding a bike with helmets on, appeared on the scene and before anybody could comprehend what they were upto, they shot him multiple times and fled from the spot.

"Roshan ho had sustained two bullet injuries, was rushed to Rao Tula Ram Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. Initial probe suggests that there were three assailants. One of them stayed with bike 50 meters away from the crime scene and two others entered the office wearing helmets and fired several shots over him. Autopsy later revealed that he was shot twice and that proved fatal," said the senior police official. 

"A case has been registered on the statement given by Roshan's friends who were consuming alcohol with him when the incident took place. We are scanning CCTV cameras in the area to identify the assailants.

Further investigation is going on," the senior police official added.

"There are around half a dozen cases registered against Roshan Lal in several police stations across the city. Rsohan Lal was suspected to be a member of Manjeet Mahal gang and had come on bail from prison few months ago. There are two cases in Dwarka district, one case in Najafgarh district and one case in Uttam Nagar registered against him that includes Indian Penal Code sections' 302, 307, 384 and others," said a senior police official.
