The people across Uttarakhand are now reeling under the cold turning more biting each passing day.  Dehradun is also under the grip of the chilling winter nowadays, as the minimum temperature has plummeted to five degree Celsius on Tuesday. The weathermen say that it would further dip in the coming days, sending the people to shiver.

Though the Met officials are yet to confirm the possibility of Mussoorie/ landour/ Dhanaulty enjoying a white Christmas things are, however, brightening up with the progressive dip in the mercury. As per the Met officers, it might snow in the places with altitude of 2500 meters and above from December 23 while the queen of hills Mussoorie and the lake city Nainital might record fresh snowfall from December 28.

Meteorological centre officers said that while generally dry weather would prevail across the State the sky might remain overcast for a certain period of the day on Wednesday.

Mist might enshroud a large swathe of the plain areas of the Himalayan State in the early morning hours. In Dehradun, too, fog might form during the early morning hours on the day as per the weather forecast issued by the regional Met centre.
