Raise issues within rules, appeals Pant

Tuesday, 18 September 2018 | PNS | Dehradun

On the eve of the start of monsoon session of State Assembly, the Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prakash Pant has made an appeal to the Congress party legislators to raise issues in the State Assembly within the rules and assured that the Government would provide satisfactory answers to their queries.

The Minister while talking to journalists at Vidhan Sabha on Monday said that the Government is fully prepared for the four day session.

He said discussions on new ordinances and bills would be held during the Assembly session. Pant added that many non government and private member resolutions would be adopted during the session.

On the question of Government’s stand on Gairsain as capital of Uttarakhand and the plan of some organisations to hold Vidhan Sabha march on the issue, the Minister merely said that the focus of the Government is to develop infrastructural facilities at Gairsain. “Our total focus is on development of the State,’’ he said.

Though the Parliamentary Affairs Minister refused to divulge details, it is learnt that the Government would place ‘Uttarakhand Molasses processing amendment Act’ and ‘Court Fee amendment Act’ on the table of the house during the session.

The Government is also expected to put ‘Uttarakhand Urban local bodies special provision (slum) ordinance’ and ‘Uttarakhand retirement benefit (amendment) ordinance’ in the house for its approval.

The Vidhan Sabha secretary Jagdish Chandra told The Pioneer that members have listed 1000 questions and 200 petitions for the assembly session.
