MP athletes bag five golds, four silvers and three bronzes in Junior C’ship

The players of Madhya Pradesh State Athletics Academy exhibited impressive performance at the 34th National Junior Athletics Championship. The players brought laurels to the State and country by bagging 12 medals including five golds, four silvers and three bronzes.

The competition was held in Ranchi from November 2 to 5. In the championship, Academy player Avinash Kumar jumped 6.84 meters and made a new national record in the long jump.

Here on Tuesday, the medal winners met Director of Sports and Youth Welfare S. L. Thoussen and appreciated the players on their achievement in the championship.

Sports Director Thoussen lauded the athletics academy's great performance in the National Junior National Athletics Championships and congratulated the medal winners.

In the championship, he appreciated the academy player Avinash Kumar to create a new national record and said that continuing this kind of excellent performance and winning the medal, increase the pride of the country and the region.

The Sports Director encouraged all the academy players to excel in the upcoming events.

On this occasion, the joint director Vinod Pradhan, Chief Coach of athletics academy, S.K. Prasad and assistant coach Shipra Christ, Virendra Kumar and Anupama Srivastava were also present.

Under the National Junior National Athletics Championship, Academy's player Avinash Kumar, Langjump, Ritesh Oheh scored two thousand meters, Rohan Tiwari scored a hundred meter hurdles, Sunil Dabar scored 1500 meters and Ikram Ali earned a gold medal in discus throw Done

Similarly, Abhishek Thakur won six hundred meters, Shivam Sikarwar won one hundred silver, Arvind Sharma won discus throws and Krishna Sharma triple jump in silver medal.

On the other hand, Shivam Sikarwar won Triple jump, Rohan Bavaria four hundred meters and Krishna Sharma won one bronze medal in long jump
