Modi to dedicate three projects in State today

Monday, 19 November 2018 | PNS | Chandigarh

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Sunday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming to Haryana on November 19 and he would dedicate three projects to the people of the State.

“This would be PM Modi’s 11th visit to the state, in the last four years,” said the Chief Minister who visited Sultanpur to review preparations for the PM’s rally to be held in Gurugram.

On the occasion, he also issued necessary directions to the concerned officers and officials regarding preparations of the rally.

While interacting with media persons in Gurugram, the Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister would inaugurate the long pending project Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway on November 19. On the occasion, he would also inaugurate Ballabhgarh Metro Line in Faridabad and lay the foundation stone of country’s first Skill University namely Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University in village Dudhola, Palwal.

He said that the construction work of KMP expressway had started in the year 2006 but the previous government could not complete it till the year 2014 and thus, the contract with concessionaire was cancelled in 2014.

Later, according to the Supreme Court orders, work on the project was started again. It is a matter of great delight that the KMP expressway which was to be completed by February 2019, had been completed four months earlier. The Prime Minister would dedicate the Expressway to the people of the state, Manohar Lal said.

He also said that the Prime Minister would also inaugurate Mujesar to Ballabhgarh Metro Line, which would facilitate travel for the people of Delhi and Faridabad.

In reply to a question regarding allegations of former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on works done by the present Government, he said that we all know what the Congress Government had done during its regime.

He said that only Hooda or the previous concessionaire can tell why and how the work of KMP Expressway got delayed. The investigation is on in the case. The reason is worth knowing as from 2006 to 2009 only work of putting the soil was done.   Due to years-long delay in KMP expressway project, the cost of the project has also increased and its onus goes to former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, he added.

Manohar Lal also said that in this area, this would be first such big rally which has never happened in past. There would be thousands of people in the PM’s rally, he added.

In reply to another question regarding a statement of false rape cases filed by women, Manohar Lal said that his statement is being distorted.

“What I have said, today I am saying it on record that when such rape cases are examined and studied, it has been found that in 80 per cent incidences in such cases are acquaintances. Now in such cases, I have never said anything like, who and what does. But there is a need for generating awareness in the society, politics should not be done in it. Because if there is something bad in society then we all should together need to deal with it,” he added.
