Guv for spreading Gandhian thoughts, philosophy among masses

The 150th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, will be grand celebration. Everyone’s participation should be ensured in it. A year-long event will help Gandhiji’s thoughts and philosophy reach the new generation. What is the significance of Mahatma Gandhi’s life in Jharkhand’s perspective, there is a need to work on it,” said Governor Draupadi Murmu while presiding over a meeting on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on Saturday.

She said Mahatma Gandhi gave special importance to villages. “We also have to make the younger generation aware of his thoughts. School children should be associated with this event. Art, seminars, workshops etc. related to Bapu should be organized all over the year. Women should also participate in this,” she said.

She said in the Governors’ conference, the Prime Minister had said that it is our attempt that most of our youth get higher education. The Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi had said that the soul of India dwells in the villages. Improve the situation of the villages and make significant efforts towards the advancement of the nation. In this perspective, students studying in the university / college should go to the villages and aware people about the welfare scheme.

Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that in the 150th birth anniversary celebration of Mahatma Gandhi, the meeting of the Committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Governor with all the political parties, people of Gandhian ideology, social institutions, religious leaders and others will be held. A working committee will be formed in that meeting which will consistently meet and plan and work on the event. On May 2, 2018, the meeting, chaired by the President, in which various political parties and people belonging to the Gandhian ideology of the country were also present, keeping in view the suggestions and ideas presented in the meeting, that on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi such programs should be organized in Jharkhand. With the event new generation can understand Mahatma Gandhi’s ideas and his contribution. Our objective should be to involve more and more youth. Everyone should participate in such program.

In the meeting, the Speaker of Vidhan Sabha, Dinesh Oraon suggested that the village heads should also be involved. MPs Ramatahal Chaudhary, Mahesh Poddar, Chairman of Khadi Board Sanjay Seth, Vice Chancellor of Ranchi University Ramesh Kumar Pandey, Bhaveshananda of Ramkrishna Mission, Chairman of FJCCI Deepak Maru, Vice Chancellor of Birsa Agricultural University P Kaushal, Prof. Saraswati Mishra, Department of Philosophy, Ranchi University also gave their suggestions.

Chief Secretary Sudhir Tripathi, Principal Secretary to Governor Nitin Madan Kulkarni, Principal Secretary of Home Department SKG Rahte, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sunil Kumar Barnwal, Police Housing Corporation and Director General of Police HQ PRK Naidu, Urban Development Secretary, Ajay Kumar Singh, Secretary of the Art Culture, Rahul Sharma, Director of Tourism, Sanjeev Besra and other officials were also present.
