Former Kantabanji MLA Prasanna Pal passed away on Saturday at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.
He was elected from in 1977, 1980 and 1985 as a Congress candidate and in 1990 on a Janata Dal ticket. Many Government offices were opened at Kantabanji during his tenure.
Former PCC president and former Balangir MP Sarat Pattanayak mourned Pal’s death and recalled his efforts to develop the Kantabanji constituency.
Former Kantabanji Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja also condoled the death Pal and described him as a leader who strived for development of the Kantabanji constituency by establishing schoola, colleges and various Government offices.
