EFC approves five out of nine proposals

Five out of nine proposals put up by various departments were accorded approval in the meeting of the expenditure finance committee chaired by the chief secretary Utpal Kumar Singh here on Tuesday. He said that the four unsanctioned proposals will be brought up in the next meeting of the expenditure finance committee.

The sanctioned projects include the new collectorate building to be built at a cost of Rs 691.81 lakh, 126 room hostel to be built at Uttarakhand Sanskrit Vishwavidyalay campus  at Haridwar at a cost of Rs 499.24 lakh, the construction of Haliadob Lachima-Okhrani-Nachni motor road in Gangolihat area of Pithoragarh district at a cost of Rs 1149.42 lakh, foot bridge to be built across the Ganga river at Muni-ki-Reti near Kailash gate in Tehri district at a cost of Rs  4885.60 lakh, RCC bridge on State Highway number 74 at kilometer number 293 at Sirsa turn to Shakti Farm on Sukhi river in Sitarganj Assembly segment in US Nagar district at cost of Rs 1027.01 lakh.     

The remaining proposals including the 120 metre long Jhulka bridge at Pilang-Judav pathway near Pilang in Uttarkashi to be built by disaster management (PIU), IG Prisons headquarter building in Dehradun, 120 metre long suspension bridge on Jarkul river at Piplogi in Tehri, Hifer rearing farm building at Rishikesh to be built by Animal Husbandry department were again referred to be put in the next meeting of the expenditure finance committee.

Additional chief secretary Om Prakash, secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram, secretary in charge Indudhar Baudai, Revenue secretary in charge Vinod Raturi were present.
