Crush down anti-social elements: CM

Imparting the message of harmony among the people, Durga Puja and Vijayadashami passed off peacefully amid much fanfare. From observing puja in a traditional way to witnessing the puja pandals decorated taking inspiration from different themes, the Capital City was soaked in festive spirit since past few days.  The festival concluded on a high note on October 19. Chief Minister Raghubar Das on the occasion of Vijayadashami while addressing the people of the State said that the celebration of Vijayadashami gives each individual a message of victory of good over evil.

The CM further said that together we all need to crush down the anti-national and anti-social elements that are still active in the country. “To develop a country free from all kinds of evils, people must differentiate between good and bad. It is high time now; we must focus on eliminating the anti social elements for uniform growth and development. The State government is working towards the development of Jharkhand,” stated the CM on the auspicious occasion.

“Vijayadashami is not merely a festival but an event that is organised annually to infuse morality among the people while keeping the age long tradition alive. Such kind of event creates awareness among the new generation about Indian customs,” the CM said. Meanwhile, the CM enquired about the developmental projects and other activities of Argora locality and interacted with the local residents.

Joining in the festivities, Chief Minister Raghubar Das visited the various puja pandals in Ranchi on Friday. Offering his prayers to Goddess Durga at Harmu Panch Mandir, the CM was seen interacting with the crowd. He appreciated the décor and the arrangements made on the premises and enjoyed the delicacies at the various stalls put up there.

The CM was accompanied by Minister Urban Development, Housing and Planning, CP Singh, Hatia MLA Navin Jaiswal, Mayor Asha Lakra, Deputy Mayor Sanjiv Vijayawargia, DGP DK Pandey including other eminent persons.

Besides on ‘Vijayadashmi’, a major chunk of population residing in State Capital including other adjoining areas thronged to get a glimpse of Goddess Durga at major puja pandals on ‘Navami’. The pandal hoppers were seen enjoying the festival to the fullest. The major crowd pullers which includes Bakri Bazaar Puja Pandal, Satya Amar Lok, Ranchi Railway Station, Bandhgari, Harmu Panch Mandir, Kokar, Morhabadi, RR Sporting Club to name a few were the prime centre of attractions on the concluding day of Puja.

On the other hand, the ten-day long affair that saw participation of public in quite a good number was managed well by the district administration officials. The district administration was on toes to prevent any untoward incident. Installation of CCTV cameras for close surveillance, deputation of additional magistrates and traffic constables at the major avenues for better crowd management received much applaud from the public who without much hassle were able to enjoy this delightful festival with their family and friends. Members of various puja samitis on Saturday met Ranchi SSP Anish Gupta and congratulated him including other senior officials of the district administration for their support in organising the grand festival.
