Cong seeks CBI probe into infants’ sale issue

Monday, 24 September 2018 | Staff Reporter | Raipur

Terming the selling of babies  ‘a high profile issue’ and involvement of an organised racket, Congress has alleged nexus between main accused Dr Shanu Masih and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leaders.

Addressing a Press conference here at State Congress Office, former Mayor, Kiranmayee Nayak and Chairman Medical Wing, Dr Rakesh Gupta charged that they have substantial proof that Dr Masih has been regularly visiting Visharad hospital run by RSS leader Dr Purnendu Saxena. She also manages the financial records there.

“Why Dr Saxena didn’t took any action when the accused was using his registration number till now and why he didn’t lodge complaint in this regard with Indian Medical Council”, they questioned.

It was not possible that Dr Saxena does not have any information about alleged misuse of his registration number, the Congress leaders further blamed. “Now too, he had only lodged a written complaint and an FIR has not been registered,” they alleged.

They demanded seizure of the Close Circuit Tele Vision (CCTV) footage of Dr Saxena’s Visharad Hospital of past one year and also the call details of some of the high profile suspects associated with this case should be brought under the purview of enquiry.

The persons who adopted the children should also fall under needle of suspicion and they should also be brought under purview of probe, the Congress leaders demanded.

“As it is clear now that an organized racket was involved in baby selling, a CBI probe is hence forth demanded”, the leaders added.
