Cong celebrating victory in four of six seats in Gwalior

The Congress is celebrating its victory in four of the six seats in the Gwalior area.

 The four Congress candidates have established clear lead over their BJP rivals in the closely contested assembly elections.

Jubilant supporters of the Congress candidates, Munnalal Goyal, Pradhuman Singh Tomar, Lakhan Singh and Imarti Devi were seen celebrating the expected win in a colorful way.

The BJP candidates from Gwalior South and Gwalior Rural have established clear leads over their nearest Congress candidates.The Gwalior South was in the news due to the dissident BJP leader, Sameeksha Gupta contesting as an independent candidate. She was expected to give a tough fight to the BJP candidate, Narayan Singh Kushwaha.

 However at the time of writing this report she was trailing at the third position behind the BJP and the Congress candidates. Narayan Singh Kushwaha has established a clear lead from here.

After establishing healthy lead in the initial rounds, Satish Singh Sikarwar, the BJP candidate from Gwalior East constituency was trailing by more than 9000 votes after round 11. The Congress candidate Munnalal Goyal is set to win from here.

Congress has won the Dabra seat.

Its candidate Imarati Devi defeated her nearest rival, Kaptan Singh of the BJP.

Bharat Singh, the BJP candidate from Gwalior Rural is set to win as he is leading by more than 5000 votes after the 12th round. The BSP candidate from here is trailing in the third position.

 However the biggest jolt for the BJP is the inevitable defeat of its cabinet minister Jaybhan Singh Pawiya who was contesting from the Gwalior 15 assembly constituency.

After the twelfth round of counting he was trailing by more than 10000 votes. Pradhuman Singh Tomar, the Congress candidate from here is all set to win this prestigious assembly seat.

It is reported that Rustam Singh, the cabinet minister has also lost the election from the Morena constituency.
