While strongly condemning the incident of Congress party workers dumping garbage in the residential premises of Urban Development Minister Amar Agrawal yesterday, Chief Minister Raman Singh on Wednesday ordered magisterial probe into cane charging on Congress party workers in Bilaspur on Tuesday.
Addressing a press conference here during the State-wide ongoing ‘Atal Vikas Yatra’ , the Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh is a peaceful State and such incidents would not be tolerated.
He said that bhoomi pujan for around Rs 6011 crore worth of works had been carried out during the ‘Atal Vikas Yatra’ so far. The ‘Atal Vikas Yatra’ had been organised to present the account of development work being carried out in the State which had been dedicated to former Prime Minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
It is because of the late Prime Minister, Chhattisgarh has been formed. When the State will reach age of 25 years in 2025, a format of ‘Nava Chhattisgarh’ is being prepared for which cooperation of people and their suggestions is being sought, so that state reaches new height of development, Singh said.
An ‘Atal Vikas Patra’ is being prepared for it where the GDSP would be double, permanent houses will be offered to all and 100 percent literacy and each child studying in school will be ensured. The state would also be first investment destination of the country.
To a question on offering party ticket to Minister Bhaiyalal Rajwade, Chief Minister said that party ticket for the poll has not been decided yet. As per rule, the name would be forwarded by the district after which the organization would consider the name and then will be sent to Delhi. The BJP National Headquarters would finalise the name of candidates.
On sale of liquor, Singh said that earlier private contractors used to sell liquor due to which crime was on the rise, after which government decided to sell liquor. On compulsory retirement of officers and employees , the Chief Minister said that a decision would be taken soon in this direction.
On the strike by clerical staff, the Chief Minister said that talks have been held with 23 organisations.
