BJP condemns lathi charge incident: Sharma

Thursday, 20 September 2018 | Staff Reporter | Raipur

It was a strategic plan adopted by the Congress party workers to involve themselves in such a work so that tension prevailed along with disruption of law and order alleged State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Spokesperson Shivratan Sharma.

When the visit of BJP National President Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had been scheduled in Bilaspur,  creating such a situation proves that Congress party is doing rehearsal, he said in a statement.

The programme of throwing garbage by Congress workers and situation created after it followed by cane charge is an unfortunate incident, Sharma said.

“In year 2002-03 the then Congress government had broken the leg of Leader of Opposition Nand Kumar Sai and other BJP leaders were also brutally cane charged. The then Congress ministers Bhupesh Baghel and Satyanarayan Sharma did not condemn the incident over action of police but BJP is criticizing the incident. The Chief Minister has ordered the probe and the truth would come out”, he added. Sharma pointed out that Congress strategy can be guessed when State Congress Working President Ramdayal Uike had issued a major statement. In presence of the State In-charge of AICC, P L Punia, Uike addressing  the party workers, had said that “Even if one has to pick cane or fire a shot, this time we have to make Government by Congress at any cost”.It appears very clear that Congress wants to come to power by any means, even if undemocratic modes are adopted, he said.

Sharma further said that Congress is without any issue and spreading insecurity among the residents of the state and wants to gain sympathy for which it is making a fruitless effort.
