BJP blames previous regimes for plight of para teachers

Tuesday, 20 November 2018 | PNS | Ranchi

BJP State spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo on Monday blamed the former governments of Madhu Koda and Hemant Soren for ignoring the interests of Para teachers and said during their tenures the opposition leaders did nothing for the teachers but now they are shedding crocodile tears.

The BJP leader accused the Opposition of playing politics over the issue of the teachers. He said that when Madhu Koda government was in power a committee was formed under the chairmanship of Girinath Singh for the welfare of para teachers.

The committee also visited various states and gave a report. At that time, Bandhu Tirkey was the HRD Minister. But the report was first ignored by the government of Madhu Koda and subsequently by the Government under Hemant Soren.

Shahdeo added that it is really surprising today the same leaders are inciting the teachers and shedding tears. He said that the BJP-led government has always increased the honorarium of para teachers. Moreover, 50% reservation was given in the appointment of primary teachers, maternity leave provided, retirement age is 60 years.  He expressed surprise that the same Opposition leaders are turning out to be the supporters of Para teachers. Shahdeo said that in the name of agitation the BJP Government will not tolerate indiscipline. The Government will not spare anyone playing with the future of students.

The spokesperson said that most teachers want to return to their work, but some anti-social elements are provoking them.

He appealed to teachers to return to work fearlessly and said that the Government would give them all possible security. Shahdeo reacting to the statement of Congress leader and former minister Subodh Kant Sahay in which he said that the Congress would take the lies of the BJP to every house, Shahdeo said the voters gave their verdict against Congress by giving them worst defeat. Shahdeo said that BJP has won in 90% of the elections after 2014. It also shows that the complete confidence of the public is in favour of BJP.
