Noted wrestler Babita Fogat said that the parents should let their wards engage in sports as it helps in a harmonious development of body and mind of the children. She was talking to the journalists on the sidelines of the convocation ceremony at Grahic Era University here on Saturday.
The Commonwealth gold medallist Babita, who along with her sister Geeta and father Mahavir Singh Phoghat inspired the director Nitesh Tiwari to make Amir Khan starrer blockbuster biopic Dangal, was appointed the sports ambassador of Graphic Era University on the day.
Urging the students to remain away from substance abuse, Babita said that love for sports is also a kind of addiction and it is advisable that the students should get addicted to sports instead. She said that the sports keeps the body healthy and one gets a sound sleep at the end of the day.
Sports also helps in stopping the mind deviating to things which are not good for the students and helps in increasing concentration levels.
