In yet another case of shooting in the Capital, a 25-year-old man sustained injuries as he was allegedly shot at by three unidentified bike-borne men at Seelampur area in Northeast Delhi late night on Sunday. The accused persons are still absconding however, police suspect personal enmity as motive behind the firing.
According to police, late night on Sunday at around 12 pm, when the victim Navi Ahmed was returning home on his motorcycle, midway the accused persons called out to him and suddenly opened fire. He allegedly sustained five bullet injuries. He was immediately taken to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, said police, adding that they suspect personal enmity, as the accused persons allegedly called the victim by his name before they shot him.
However, the accused persons are yet to be identified since there were no CCTV cameras installed in the locality, police added.
“We have registered the case and a probe has been initiated. The motive is still unclear but the accused persons knew the victim. We are still investigating the matter,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast) AK Thakur said.
