A 27-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted by her mother-in-law and over 20 women bouncers at Saket in the national Capital, police said on Saturday.
The victim alleged that her mother-in-law had called woman bouncers to not let her enter the home. Following which police registered an FIR at Saket police station.
The victim identified as Garima Chaudhary alleged that her husband Tejveer was also involved in the crime but when police arrived, he escaped from the back door. The victim was married to Tejveer in November 2017.
According to senior police official, Garima was assaulted on Monday noon when she came back from her parents’ house in Haryana’s Rohtak.
The FIR stated that when she, along with her mother, tried to enter her husband’s house at Saket, a group of over 30 goons including 20 women bouncers, prevented her and her mother and dragged them out.
“When she resisted their attempts, the women bouncers and her mother-in-law identified as Sunita Chaudhary assaulted her. They even punched her mother. The victim also stated that she faces a life threat from her mother-in-law,” said the FIR.
“Police have videos regarding the incident. A case has been registered under section 354(D)/34 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Saket police station. A hunt is on to nab the accused persons,” the senior police officer added.
