No delay from State’s side on AIIMS: Minister

PNS | Bhubaneswar

After Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad shifted the blame on the State Government for the delay in work of the AIIMS at Sijua, State Health Minister Prasanna Acharya on Friday said in the State Assembly that there was no delay on the part of the State Government regarding the construction of the AIIMS. “All the allegations are baseless,” he said.

Replying to the queries of Jatani MLA Bhibuti Bhusan Balabantray, the Health Minister said the State Government was providing all sorts of help to the Centre regarding the construction of the AIIMS.

“We are prepared to help the Centre without even any condition,” he said.

Acharya further said that out of the 14 blocks of the AIIMS, the roof works of eight blocks have already been completed.

“An alternative road has already been constructed for the Sijua village and 90 per cent work has already been completed,” he said, adding that steps have been taken to remove the high-voltage transmission line.

Acharya further informed that a high-level committee has been constituted under Chief Secretary to look into the progress of works made in the AIIMS. “All the allegations regarding the non-cooperation of State are baseless,” he said.
