In a bid to enhance voter awareness ahead of the upcoming elections, the Chas Municipal Corporation organized a voter awareness program in the Chas Municipal area. Laborers enthusiastically participated in the Voter Awareness Morning Rally and Quiz Competition, highlighting the importance of active citizenship.
Led by Chas AMC Sourav Kumar Bhuvaniya, along with Subdivisional Officer, Om Prakash Gupta, and Sveep Nodal Officer, Prabhash Datta, the Voter Awareness Morning Rally commenced at the Chas Municipal Office premises on the eve of International Labor Day 2024. Hundreds of laborers actively engaged in the event.
Addressing the gathering, AMC Bhuvaniya emphasized the significance of democracy, especially with the upcoming polling day on May 25, 2024, in Bokaro district. Expressing concerns over the relatively low voter turnout in urban areas, he highlighted the continuous efforts of the district administration, through the Sveep campaign, to increase voter awareness. The event aimed to inspire both self-voting and encouraging others to participate in the democratic process.
Various speakers urged everyone to participate fearlessly in the festival of democracy and pledged their commitment to vote. Moreover, additional activities like quiz competitions, musical chairs, and rangoli were organized among school children to educate them about the importance of voting . Citizens also took selfies at the designated selfie point to commemorate the event.
